The updated website is nearing completion to support exciting new developments at Anarkik 3D: the intuitive 3D sketch book modelling software created for designer makers to conceptualise and realise their ideas.
Last week Elisabeth Armour, jewelery designer came by the studio for guidance from Ann Marie Shillito. They discussed the best way of 3D printing her latest jewelery designs: including orientation, scale and pricing options available at Shapeways and i-materialise. Her graduate work, inspired by organic form and incorporating components created with Cloud9 software will be showcased in her degree show in Dundee later this year. The screen shot illustrates an example of this new body of work underway and you can monitor the progress to completed pieces over the coming months both here and at http://earmourdesignermaker.wordpress.com/
Siri Rodnes took the opportunity of Elizabeth’s visit to film additional footage for the planned IndiGoGo campaign. Passionate to move ahead with the next phase of improvements to Cloud9 and new functions for V3 software, we have chosen the American crowd funding platform to raise the required investment for programming support and the international launch of Anarkik 3D. Isabelle Moore is pleased to be on board to manage the project, as an Edinburgh based designer maker she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the creative sector .
To help new users hit the ground running with 3D sketch modelling and 3D printing, we are scheduling a series of workshops in sunny Edinburgh. One or two day day intensive courses including topics such as Cloud9 capabilities, navigating with the Flacon haptic device, conceptual design for 3D printability and production, and marketing craft. Check back over the coming weeks for the schedule of courses, new website along with IndieGoGo campaign launch updates.
